Perry's New Works
Bamboo Illuminations II: The Bamboo as Art
An exciting array of artworks fashioned from commonplace rural-based materials comprise Perry Mamaril's exhibition. His works have Ilocano terms denoting their source materials or transformed shapes.
All of the bamboo sculptures are constructed of kawayan (bamboo), yantok (rattan),
rono, (a Philippine wild grass), sadak (a Philippine vine), and handmade fibrous paper made
from plants in the Cordillera, Northern Luzon, the main island in the Philippines. Perry's latest work
"Gayaman"
and others are currently displayed at Cendrillon. Perry is Cendrillon's artist in residence and
you can purchase his creations directly from him at the restaurant.
