Pep Manalang September 2004- January 2005 Pep Manalang is an abstract artist who has exhibited extensively in Manila, Philippines. She obtained her training at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, where she received numerous awards, including the Scheidt Travel Scholarship.Pep studied Architecture at the University of the Philippines and has a Master’s Degree in Physics. Although her scientific side influences her art, she prefers to work intuitively. The current exhibit consists of sixteen 12”x12” canvases inspired by the idea of landscape. These paintings are about the power of landscape to take a person out of oneself; to make her forget about herself.
