We have had the pleasure of dealing with Rochelle Zabarkes for many years now since Romy and I started making and selling our Asian and Italian flavored vinegars called Cendrillon Vinegars. Rochelle, during the early 90s, owned and managed Adriana's Bazaar which has now metamorphosed into Adriana's Caravan, the most complete mail order catalogue for the "world's culinary exotica."
Spice Caravan is a collection of Rochelle's cross-cultural recipes that use the herbs, spices and blends she sells in her catalogue. In the book are two of Cendrillon's Chef Romy Dorotan's recipes: Black Rice Paella (p. 116) and Romy's Spareribs (Marinated Spice-Rubbed Spareribs, p. 153). Enjoy the book!
